Wien Museum Karlsplatz

Today, 18 May, is International Museum Day, a day when EQUANS works with cultural institutions that are looking for expertise in the ventilation and air conditioning of their exhibition spaces and storage areas.

In Austria, EQUANS Gebaüdetechnik is, for example, involved in the modernisation of the famous Vienna Museum at Karlsplatz (Wien Museum Neu), dedicated to the history of the Austrian capital, with its long-standing partner, Ortner Gmbh. The task was to carry out the ventilation, plumbing and insulation installations for the museum.

Founded in 1959, the original museum building was in need of renovation and the exhibition spaces needed to be expanded. With the construction of an additional building, the museum will have a new entrance, a permanent exhibition space on three floors (3,000 m2 in total.) A highlight will also be a terrace open to the public, overlooking Karlplatz.
Reopening is planned for next July.
