From 11 to 14 June 2025, Equans took part in VivaTech, Europe’s largest innovation and tech event. Alongside fellow Bouygues Group entities (including Bouygues Construction, Bouygues Immobilier, Colas, TF1, and Bouygues Telecom) we showcased our expertise in supporting the energy, industrial and digital transitions through impactful, innovative solutions developed with our ecosystem of partners and startups.
Day 1 – Building circularity and resilience in the built environment
The first day focused on construction, low-carbon materials, and the circular economy. Equans contributed to the roundtable on eco-circularity in building practices, showcasing Re-use Corner, a solution for the internal resale of construction materials. A concrete proof of how operational innovation can reduce waste and promote reuse on worksites.
The day also saw strong participation from the group in discussions around low-carbon concrete, energy sobriety, and modular construction, driving the idea that net-zero infrastructure must be scalable, smart and replicable.
Day 2 – Energy efficiency, AI, and new energies
On Thursday, the spotlight turned to energy generation, management and digital optimisation. Equans presented several innovations during key panels:
- SyncMax, a monitoring solution for photovoltaic panels.
- HEATEO, a combined solution for heat recovery, low-carbon production, and thermal storage.
- PEPS and SmartR Energy, AI-based tools to predict and manage energy usage.
These solutions addressed a common challenge: doing more with less : less emissions, less waste, more intelligence.
Equans also highlighted its robotic system for exterior insulation, showing how automation supports both energy performance and worker safety.
The day concluded with the Smart Port Challenge award ceremony, where Equans and Colas were recognised for their collaboration on the CENAQ project : a cutting-edge training centre for autonomous docking systems, developed in partnership with the Port of Marseille Fos.
Day 3 – Inclusion, biodiversity and urban ecosystems
Friday’s sessions brought the spotlight to nature-based solutions, digital accessibility and biodiversity preservation. Equans took centre stage in some of the day’s most impactful discussions, driving forward key debates on nature-based solutions and inclusive innovation.
On stage, we introduced:
- Navineo, a real-time information platform for public transport.
- GoMedia: a digital navigation assistant designed for the visually impaired, enabling easier movement in complex urban spaces.
- Exavision: a high-performance early detection system for wildfires, helping protect ecosystems and support emergency response teams.
- Aire Nouvelle: a framework for developing eco-neighbourhoods aligned with local biodiversity.
These solutions addressed the growing need to build inclusive, adaptive cities, where infrastructure works in harmony with people and nature. The underlying message was clear: our cities must become both liveable and regenerative, with technology enabling this balance.
The day also included the official announcement of a new partnership between Equans Digital and OVHcloud, aiming to bring cloud infrastructure closer to users, both physically and strategically. Together, the two French players are launching the On-Prem Cloud Platform (OPCP), a sovereign and secure cloud solution designed for critical sectors such as industry, healthcare and local government.
Unlike traditional public cloud models, OPCP is deployed directly on-site, giving clients full control over their data while benefiting from a managed cloud experience. The partnership reflects a shared ambition to support Europe’s digital sovereignty through trusted, high-performance technology.
To close the day on a high note, Plan Group Inc. (an Equans subsidiary) proudly celebrated the success of Borda Technology at the Bouygues Group – Startup Award ceremony.
Borda, a healthcare-focused start-up, develops smart hospital solutions using BLE and Angle of Arrival (AoA) technologies. Their platforms improve patient care, boost operational efficiency, and enhance hospital safety.
Plan Group has partnered with Borda on smart healthcare infrastructure projects in North America.
Showcasing future-driven solutions on our stand
Throughout the event, hundreds of visitors, partners and industry stakeholders engaged with live demonstrations on the Bouygues stand. This year, four signature solutions were featured—each representing a bold and concrete step toward a low-carbon, accessible, and resilient future.
Celhyans – Hydrogen innovation for critical infrastructure
Co-developed with Inocel, Celhyans is a next-generation hydrogen fuel cell system built to power complex infrastructures such as ports, airports and data centres. Its high capacity and modular design make it a pivotal alternative to fossil fuels in mission-critical environments, contributing to large-scale decarbonisation.
Exavision – Protecting biodiversity through early fire detection
Exavision offers an advanced system that detects early signs of wildfires. This allows firefighting teams to intervene more quickly and effectively. Designed for sensitive natural environments, the solution helps reduce the risk and impact of increasingly frequent wildfires driven by climate change.
GoMedia – Inclusive tech for urban navigation
Developed to support visually impaired individuals, GoMedia is a digital wayfinding solution that simplifies navigation in transport hubs and complex public spaces. It exemplifies how technology can make urban environments more inclusive, accessible and empowering.
Teleoperated robot – Safer, smarter construction
This remote-controlled construction robot addresses two major challenges in the field: reducing physical strain on workers and enhancing on-site safety. By enabling precision manoeuvres from a distance, it supports teams in handling risky or repetitive tasks with greater ease and efficiency.
A shared ambition
Equans’ presence at VivaTech 2025 reflects our commitment to being a key partner in the transformation of industries and territories. With cutting-edge technologies, multi-technical expertise and a strong innovation culture, we actively shape a more sustainable future.
